Babolat RPM Hurricane 200m reel
The Babolat RPM Hurricane (formerly Pro Hurricane Tour) is a co-polyester string with an octagonal structure (8 faces). This particularity will allow to increase the catch of effects thanks to its edges, but also to optimize the control of ball. Indeed, the flat faces will overlap and offer a longer ball/string contact time.
The Babolat RPM Hurricane string is made of a specific low density copolyester and is soft enough to offer good ball speed and decentralization tolerance.
We recommend the Pro Hurricane Tour to players looking for a good control/power ratio and outstanding spin.
Finally, its excellent durability will delight heavy hitters. Heavy hitters can opt for the thicker gauges.
The Babolat RPM Hurricane string in detail:
The octagonal string structure offers the RPM Hurricane excellent spin and control.
The power provided by the softness of the string makes it possible to find an ideal compromise between precision and ball speed. Lifters can easily find all areas with heavy and powerful balls with a curved trajectory.
Tolerant, it will allow attackers to release their shots with confidence and defenders to regain control of the point even in tricky positions.
If one were to remove a weak point, it is only the counterpart of its structure. While the RPM Hurricane is durable, you will notice a faster drop in overall performance than with unstructured strings. The edges of the Babolat RPM Hurricane string gradually become rounder and offer less spin over time.
This string is available in several gauges: 1.20 - 1.25 - 1.30 and 1.35 gauge.
Maximize the performance of your Babolat RPM Hurricane string by selecting the right gauge:
The 1.20 gauge will provide maximum feel, comfort and power. The 1.20 gauge is perfect for small headsize racquets that wear out strings more slowly, as the thinner the gauge, the faster the string breaks.
The 1.25 gauge will have the best compromise between power and spin. This gauge should be used on screens of 645cm² or less. Be careful not to use the 1.25 gauge on screens larger than 645cm² to avoid poor frame/ string performance.
The 1.30 gauge is more for hitters and players who break regularly. Both of these conditions must be met in order to use the Babolat RPM Hurricane string in 1.30 gauge. You can put it on screens larger than 645cm².
Finally, the 1.35 gauge will offer maximum control and durability. Extreme breakers and heavy hitters will have a field day. However, beware of the loss of comfort on this type of gauge.
Babolat RPM Hurricane string tension advice:
We advise you not to exceed a tension of 24 kilos on a 645cm² screen. A structured string offers more spin, so your ball will be shorter. You can hit harder to find a little more length.
By applying a tension higher than 24kg, you will lose efficiency and will be forced to force, which will more easily cause you pain in the forearm and/or shoulder.
You can increase the tension to 25 kilos on screens between 660cm² and 690cm².
Extreme Tennis tip:
The Babolat RPM Hurricane string is a rather powerful string, so don't try to make it a very controllable string by increasing the tension. It is better to change it for a string that offers more control by nature.
